The plan is:
- West Midlands location to try to make it equally accessible (inaccessible) to everyone
- Friday evening arrival on 28th June (no time constraints – food provided on arrival)
- Saturday morning competition commences
- Sunday 30th (approx. 3pm) departure
- Programme similar to previous years but without the complete day hike – I will put up complete competition outline on the website in the next week or so, but the format is summarised below.
Outline Format
A competitive, challenging and fun competition for Patrols of up to 6 Scouts and Senior Scouts. Patrols can be specially made up for the competition and include up to 2 Seniors, total age for a Patrol of 6 is 84, and for smaller Patrols the average age should be 14. We have previously had Patrols made from more than one Group too.
The competition involves some pre camp projects, which are scored at camp, setting up a Patrol Campsite within specific guidelines, and then competing on challenges at camp which include open fire cooking, pioneering, orienteering, camp craft, surprise Scouting skills challenges, camp fire entertainment and some sports / games challenges, and of course personal and camp inspections. The atmosphere has always been really tremendous, Patrols are definitely there to compete, but with a happy and friendly Scouting spirit that means that the weekend is not too intense.
Patrols work on their own, and are judged (and mentored and supported) by leaders from other Groups – and they find that this is a great way to show their skills to a fresh set of eyes.
Hoping to see more people than ever this summer – my personal target is to have 15 Patrols competing, but would be delighted if we smash that goal too.

In 1982, Beavers started for the very first time in the B-PSA The Baden-Powell Scouts' Association is a thriving and growing charity which provides traditional scouting across England and Wales. All of our Scout Groups are self-funding and we are looking for a Fundraising Advisor to join the charity's National Committee.
The Fundraising Advisor will be responsible for researching and developing appropriate routes of securing funding for individual scout groups and the nationwide charity. The role will require a creative and motivated individual who can effectively share opportunities with our membership. The Fundraising Advisor will support our leaders in areas such as grant applications and seeking sponsorship.
It is expected that this role would require no more than a few hours each week.
The post will be subject to election at the soonest National Committee meeting as an ex-offico advisor of the Charity.
