National Discovery Award – North Wales – 14th to 20th August 2010


On 14th August 17 Senior and Rover Scouts arrived in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park to be greeted by clear blue skies and the rare view of the summit of Snowdon with the sun going down behind it.......



EUROCamp 2010

altAt the end of an action-packed term of summer scouting, 16 members of 1st Whittingham BP Scout Group loaded up their rucsacs to take part in the main event of the World Federation of Independent Scouts for this summer – ‘EUROcamp 2010’ – a scout Jamboree in Germany, camping with 1300 scouts from all over the world.....


Northumbria Seniors Climbing Weekend – 10th & 11th July 2010


On a windy but bright Saturday morning 14 Senior Scouts from around Northumbria Area met at Bowden Doors Crags for a weekend of climbing led by 2 leaders with the SPA climbing instructors qualification and equipped by the Awards for All lottery fund.........


Senior and Rover Scout Snow Hole Weekend


With their own Winter Mountain Leader, Clive, the Senior Scouts and Rovers were planning a challenging trip to the Scottish Highlands to navigate out onto the Cairngorm Plateau and sleep out in a snow hole.
