Scout & Senior Badge Bonanza

alt24th – 26th September, Derbyshire. £20.00 (£12.00 for Leaders)

Primarily a chance for Scouts and Seniors to pass  (some elements  or all of) a couple of badges and meet Scouts from around the country. This also a chance for leaders working toward their Wood Beads to pass either the backwoods or pioneering element.

The Scout and Senior Badge Bonanza will be held in Derbyshire and will cost £20 (£12 for leaders) (includes camp fees, food, activities and any badges passed). The camp will start on Friday night with everyone arriving, pitching tents and booking in. All the food will be centrally catered, unless Scouts are partaking in the Backwoodsman or Cook (Camp) badges, and then they will be cooking some of their own meals.

The Scout badges we will be covering over the weekend are: Backwoodsman, Cook (Camp), Pioneer, Starman and Tracker

The Senior Badges we will be covering are: Astronomer, Forester, Senior Pioneer, Senior Tracker and Survival. There will also be a chance to cover Part 3 of the Venturer Badge.

The Scouts/ Seniors will have the opportunity to work on two of the above badges. To help organise the weekend we need booking forms to be filled in with a first, second and third preference and we will endeavour to meet their preferences.

We also require all leaders to fill in a second form to indicate any badge they feel they have the skills to help run, or alternatively any badge they would like to help on, but would like to work with a more experienced leader, and we will also need help in the kitchen.

All forms and a £20 deposit per Group (payable to "BP Publications") to be sent to Martyn Dodson, 11 Cambridge Terrace, Millbrook, Stalybridge, Cheshire, SK15 3JG.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Yours In Traditional Scouting

Rover Quest 2 - An International Rover Moot

Scotland: 19th - 29th August 2011 (Dates TBC)

What?

"Rovers are a Brotherhood of the Open Air and Service. They are Hikers on the Open Road and Campers of the woods, able to shift for themselves, but equally able and ready to be of some service to others"

Lord Baden-Powell, Rovering to Success

In the United Kingdom, Rover Scouts is our section of adult scouts aged 18 and over. Rover Scouting started in 1918, but it was not until the summer of 1931 that the first International Rover Moot was held in Switzerland with 3000 Rover Scouts from all over the world. In 2011, the B-PSA UK will host Rover Quest 2. At this International Rover Moot we will celebrate 80 years since the very first Moot and also over 40 years of Baden-Powell Scouts Association being formed.
