
Senior Ambulance
(1) Pass or have passed the First Aid badge.
(2) Show you have a good knowledge of personal safety and protection, with regards to administering first aid.
(3) Know how to assess a situation and the correct actions to take.
(4) Be able to demonstrate the correct telephone procedures, when calling for help in an emergency.
(5) Demonstrate the treatment for shock.
(6) Demonstrate the recovery position.
(7) Be able to demonstrate life saving procedures on a resuscitation doll.
(8) Be able to recognise and differentiate between the different stages of unconsciousness.
(9) Diagnose and demonstrate treatment for all fractures.
(10) Know how to deal with cases of suspected poisoning.
Note: All of the above should be undertaken following current
St. John's literature.
The Examiner for this badge must be a qualified doctor, RGN, SRN or an Instructor
in First Aid to one of the bodies listed above or have passed a B-PSA course
in the aspects of First Aid.
